The Summer School is a UNIC blended intensive project to explores the interdisciplinary role of water in postindustrial regions, combining scientific, technological, and socio-cultural perspectives. The students tackle a challenge connected with water management, pollution control or sociocultural change, go on field trips to postindustrial sites in the Ruhr area, and present their findings to peers and faculty. The work is organized in interdisciplinary & international teams with students from other European UNIC-Universities.
The Summer School is carried out in collaboration with the University College Cork (Ireland), the University of Oulu (Finland), and the University of Lodz (Poland).

September 21 – October 02, 2026, block course (all day)
first week online via zoom, second week in presence at the Ruhr-University Campus
Credits and Registration
The Summer School is open to Bachelors, Masters and PhD students from all disciplines, who want to know more about the subject and enjoy working in interdisciplinary groups. Students can achive 5 ECTS. Please contact your student advisory service bevor registration.
